New Emissions standards coming to Canada

Canada will join the United States in setting new emissions standards for
heavy trucks,
- Environment Minister Jim Prentice announced Friday at a news
conference in Vancouver.
Both countries have committed to reducing total greenhouse gas emissions by
17 per cent from 2005 levels by 2020.
- Mr. Prentice said that aligning Canada’s plan for reducing emissions to that
of the United States is “something that just made sense because of our
closely integrated economies.”
